Ms. Maria Simonetta Da Conceicao is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology at St. Aloysius Degree College, Bengaluru. She is K-SET qualified and has 7 years of teaching experience in Psychology. She is passionate about promoting student well-being, mental health awareness, and holistic development through innovative teaching and experiential learning. She actively organizes academic, co-curricular, and mental health awareness programmes, including World Mental Health Day, Suicide Prevention Day, seminars, workshops, and educational visits such as the NIMHANS Brain Museum. Her student-centric teaching approach encourages critical thinking, emotional resilience, and practical application of psychological concepts. She has also contributed to research with a publication on "Loneliness and Self-esteem among Adolescents" and continuously enhances her professional expertise through national faculty development programmes in psychology, ethics, mental health, artificial intelligence, and higher education.
