OUR LEGACY

A Brief History of St. Aloysius Institutions

St. Aloysius Institutions have a long-standing tradition of educational service in Bengaluru. Founded by the foreign missionaries in 1898, the institution has grown steadily across decades—expanding from school education to pre-university and, later, to degree and postgraduate studies.

Today, St. Aloysius Degree College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies continues this legacy with a focus on academic excellence, character formation, and holistic development.

Going Down the Memory Lane

1898

Foundation

St. Aloysius institutions were founded by foreign missionaries and began serving the community through quality education.

1914

Present Granell Structure

The present high school structure of the right Granell block was constructed with the help of the Government.

1973

PU College Block

The PU College was added with a new building, supporting expanded learning pathways for students.

2008

Degree College & Post-Graduation Studies

St. Aloysius Degree College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies was established and managed by the Archdiocesan Board of Education.
