About the Library
Knowledge, access and opportunity
St. Aloysius Degree College and Postgraduate Research Centre was established in 2008 and is managed by the Archdiocesan Board of Education. Accredited by NAAC and affiliated to Bangalore North University, the institution is included under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. We are committed to inclusive, secular, affordable and accessible higher education.
The College Library maintains a diverse and well-organized collection to support the academic and research needs of students and faculty.

- Subscribed national and international online journals are available to users.
- Digital resources can be accessed remotely, subject to institutional access policy.

Admission and Membership
- All students and staff are eligible for library membership.
- Membership forms are available at the circulation counter.
- Sign the library entry register.
- Keep belongings at the property counter.
- A valid college ID card is required for entry.
- Mobile phone use is prohibited inside the library.
- Reference books, newspapers and magazines are for library use only.
Library Cards and Loan Periods
- The College ID card also serves as the Library Card and is non-transferable.
- Members are responsible for books issued on their ID card.
- High-demand books are issued based on reservations.
- Borrowed books should not be brought back into the library.
- Books can be reserved through the Library OPAC.
- Reserved books are kept at the circulation counter for one day.
- Students: 5 books for 14 days
- Faculty: 7 books for 90 days
- Supporting staff: 2 books for 30 days
Overdue and No-Due Certificate
- Return books on or before the due date shown on the due-date slip.
- An overdue fine of ₹5 per book per day applies after the due date.
- Absence from college is not a valid reason for waiving an overdue fine.
- If the due date falls on a holiday, return on the next working day without a fine.
- Failure to return books on time may suspend library membership.
- Return all books and clear dues before examinations.
- Obtain a No-Due Certificate from the Librarian before examinations.
General Instructions
- Maintain silence; group discussions are not permitted.
- Food and refreshments are prohibited.
- Mobile phones must be switched off or kept on silent mode.
- Laptops and tablets may be used for academic purposes only.
- Leave books on the reading table after use.
- Switch off unnecessary lights and fans to conserve electricity.
